Editor's Review:

Temple Run is an incredible Parkour game. It is amazing to play this game on your mobile phone. While you are playing this game, you will find out for the first time that your mobile phone is no longer some disposable distraction to kill your spare time. It can be an "elixir" that gets your adrenaline pumping. As soon as you come into this world, you will be chased by a monster. And before you know it, you are sprinting frantically. It feels like the monster is breathing down your neck. No one will ask whether or not you are ready. You will be immediately shoved into this unfolding disaster. Once your primal reaction is activated because of the breathless opening, you will fully immerse yourself in this world. There is no deep lore for you to slowly read line by line. You have only one thought in your mind: "I have to run for my life now." As for the rules, it is shockingly simple. You just need to slide, jump, turn and tilt your device to collect all the coins. But the design is quite precise. Your fingers can swipe in different directions very quickly. The motion controls can handle subtle correction. You can maintain intense focus for short bursts. The running rhythm and your actions can fit together almost perfectly. You will find that the whole adventure effectively constructs the illusion of speed. And you will find that the difficulty escalation is not shown through the feeling that "It is obviously moving faster now!" but through rhythmic aggression. There is no smart trick in this world. It is simply about activating your instinct. You will have this experience of facing constant near failure. But no matter what may happen, you still just want to start over and enjoy this thrill of messing up but somehow narrowly escaping. Anyway, you can just run in whatever way you want and enjoy the absolute freedom. As long as you can successfully dodge all the obstacles, you will have this strong impression of how wonderful a runner you are. But your margin for error is limited. So you must always make full use of all the resources available to avoid waterfalls, flames, cliffs, broken bridges, and sharp turns. None of this seems to be complex because it is relatively easy to dodge a certain obstacle. But if these obstacles appear in front of your eyes in a certain combination or in a consecutive way, it will be a great challenge for your reflexes. There is no extra time for you to try to think about anything else as you fly through this ancient ruin. But the visuals will give you a quite realistic experience, and you will love the clarity in your mind. In other words, even if you run at a really fast speed, the environment will never make you feel overwhelmed because it feels as though your rhythm has aligned with the obstacles and your actions are instinctive. It is a dangerous path that will throw you into danger at any moment. But no matter what may happen, you will never choose to give up. You just want to keep going and reach a greater distance. So in some sense, the psychological satisfaction you get from this world is not derived from pure speed, but more from your instinctive reaction and the scenery. The visual beauty is also striking. As soon as you come into this world, you will feel that the gorgeous scenery is solely built for your eyes. You definitely have a visual feast. The sound design and feedback are also fantastic. Nothing will go unnoticed in this world, even if you run at a crazy speed and swipe like a crazy person, and you will experience the spike of panic, especially when the monsters are closing in, but you will always the realistic audio heightens the sense of thrill because of the realistic audio, and you will especially love the coin pickup sounds, the tension building before a mistake, the rhythm of footsteps, and the environmental sense of emptiness and danger. So in this world, you are not simply running for the excitement, you are running for your life. And the whole design is not simply about capturing your attention through the grand and cinematic music to create a kind of intensity. Instead, you will love the direct audio feedback that will make every action you take feel consequential in this world. You can regard yourself as the ultimate runner. You have no backup and you have no time to pause and interpret what is happening around you. The immediate sensory signals will let you know whether you are safe or you are on the verge of facing a devastating disaster. So tension will always accompany you in this world. You have no choice but to rely on instinct rather than intellect. And this adventure has a great replay value. You just want to know whether you will have another 30 seconds of survival and whether or not you will have the capability to create a new record in the next round. And you just want to challenge your own limits. And each twist and turn will always reveal a new kind of mystery. You just want to have another chance to show better running skills. And it is not simply about experiencing the running adventure in its pure form. You will also love the running style. The relentless opening, immediate feedback, and fluid controls will always attract you to come back. So even if you come across several setbacks and become nervous, you will still be engaged in this world. And your body reacts before your mind does. So it is kind of miraculous. It seems like you become part of this amazing world. While you are running, it seems that you can feel your own soul and you feel that you just merge with this expansive world. But it is still worthwhile for you to spend your time and energy to uncover each inch of this land. And you are always curious about what kind of scenery your eyes will meet in the next running round. But there are other wonderful things you will find in your inner world while you are running in this world. When you play Temple Run, the first thing you feel is, of course, the speed. But after playing for a long time, what really remains is not the fast speed itself, but a very strange sense of order. The game appears to be a constant run, turn, jump, and slide, but once you fully immerse yourself in this gorgeous world, you will gradually notice the near-calm binary structure behind it. All of its thrills, almost all of them, are based on a very primitive relationship of opposition. Every time you make a sharp turn to the left, it is because the right side is no longer valid; every time you jump, it is because the ground is no longer safe; every time you slide through an obstacle, you are admitting that blindly rushing forward is no longer the answer. It is not merely a test of reaction, but a constant reminder that every move in this world is a reflection of another. It is precisely because of this that, at some point, the game suddenly does not seem like an ordinary Parkour game. You will find that the most fascinating part of it is not just dodging the obstacles, but that while you are dodging, you are always being pulled forward by something. Challenges and solutions come almost at the same time, and it can even be said that at the moment you see the challenge, the solution is already there. There is a broken bridge ahead, so you have to jump; there are flames above your head, so you have to slide down; the intersection is approaching, so you have to judge the direction. There is almost no room for hesitation and then slow reasoning, because everything is moving too fast to explain. In a sense, Temple Run compresses thought into instinct and makes judgment occur before language, which is why there is that very special experience: every thought is already over. It is not that you stop thinking, but that your body has already made the choice for you before you can make your thoughts clear. This feeling is actually rare because the sense of achievement does not come from "I figured it out," but from "I did not have time to think, but I was right!" It takes consciousness a step forward, to a position that is faster than language and more direct than analysis. You will feel a near-weightless flow after several consecutive thrilling moments, as if you are not clumsily manipulating a character, but rather reaching some kind of tacit understanding with the path itself. The danger ahead does not decrease, but becomes more and more dense, yet you will not feel confused; you will feel clear. This is because the world of the game, though cruel, is not ambiguous. It never deliberately deceives you and rarely gives you ambiguous traps. Its rules are exceptionally straightforward, so once you get into the rhythm, the whole process takes on an unprecedented elegance. This elegance is not the magnificence of the visuals, nor the beauty of the character's movements, but a state in which there is almost no friction between judgment and movement. You see the corner and your fingers slide over it; you see the abyss, and your body already knows it is time to jump. You are doing several movements in a row while running at high speed, and in retrospect, you might even wonder if you did it yourself. It is like a brief moment of harmony, where the world is still pushing you, but you are no longer in a predicament. You did not manage to survive by brutal force, but rather, within a very short period of time, you achieved synchronization with this world full of binary oppositions. Up and down, left and right, danger and salvation, pursuit and escape, they were originally colliding with each other, but in those few seconds when you were at your best, all of this suddenly became logical. So this whole adventure presents a very complex running experience in the simplest way. It does not tell you any great truths, nor does it use a storyline to package philosophical implications. Many times, you think you are fighting against the world, but in fact, you are just learning how to adapt. Follow its rules and you will survive. Thus, the most charming aspect of this game is no longer just the excitement, but rather that it enables you to enter a rare state in just a few minutes. You will feel intense tension, but not panic; the whole running adventure can be extremely dangerous, but not out of control; Your instinctive actions can be swift, yet extremely graceful!
